       You might want to check the front function
contacts for leakage? Also can you disconnect the button
assembly from the front after the unit is on?
        One more thing, I have seen bad zener diode's in
the circuit near the CN2001 plug from the front panel.

this is a surface mounted eeprom is not the regular eeprom with 8 pin socket
i ordered directly from sony 38 dollars high way robery ill let you know
what happens
