[TV] Mitsubishi CS3525R

I have a Mitsubishi CS3525R that has been in my family since it was new. The TV was manufactured in September of 1991.
Once I get the TV turned on it works great, the problem is getting it to turn on. When I push the power button it usually gives a 1/2 second try to turn on, the green LED lights up for about that long or a bit longer and then nothing happens. If I keep trying it will eventually go on. This 1st happened about 2 months ago, I opened up the set and there are no obvious "witness marks" of where anything went out and no fuses are blown. The inside was VERY, VERY DUSTY as you have probably seen before. I cleaned out the inside, especially near the power switches, power supply and such and when I put it back together it started to power up normally.

Now it is 2 months latter and I am back where I started but without the 13 years of dust build up.

As per my other thread on this site (for the Sony KV27T36), if it is not obvious yet, I am not a TV repair person but do have an electical engineering background (but do not practice).

Are there any easy obvious things to check / do that might milk another bit of life out of this set before I need to buy a DLP rear projection TV, I would like to wait until the current stuff is a bit cheaper or the next version (4) comes out.

Any help would be appreceated as this set is on its last leg and my other set (which you will see in another thread) is already out.

Thanks in advance,
Larry
