Subject: [TV] Sony KV27T36
I have a Sony KV27T36 that was my Grandfather's TV. It went out and he
bought a new TV that day. The TV was manufactured in May of 1993. When I
plug it in it does nothing and the power button (on the set or via the
remote) does nothing. I opened up the set and there are no obvious "witness
marks" of where anything went out and no fuses are blown.
If it is not obvious yet, I am not a TV repair person but do have an
electical engineering background (but do not practice).
Based upon the age of the set I do not think it is worth bringing into a
repair shop. So the question is, are there any easy obvious things to check
/ do that might milk another bit of life out of this set?
Any help would be appreceated as this set is out and my other set (which you
will see in another thread which greatly resembles this one) is about to
go - it does not want to turn on unless you push the on button many times.
Thanks in advance,
Larry
