[TV] Re: Mitsubishi CS3525R
Thanks to everyone so far. I do not have an ESR but I was hoping that I
would see burnt or buldged caps in the power supply. I don't do much (any)
repairs like this normally, I useally leave it up to the pros. In this case
I thought I would play a bit since the set(s) are too old to justify paying
someone else to look at. If I can fix it cheap I can hold out on purchasing
a new set.
I kind of figured that the problem is related to the (switching mode) power
supply since once the Mits is on it works fine (and on the Sony it is
completely dead, no life signs of any kind).
Maybe I will consider an ESR, it ought to come in handy on occasion but 1st
I will take them apart again and have a closer look at the power supply caps
and possibly replace the ones suggested and see what happens.
I was looking to this sight for your experience to help guide me to any
obvious know failure modes on these sets.
Thanks again, I will post my findings after I try the cap replacement. All
information is very much welcomed.
Larry
