Hi Tony
That type of vertical problem can be real hard to find. Be sure your
input voltage to the IC is correct. Also be sure that capacitor is good for
that voltage. Also I know Panasonic (Quasar) have a couple of 12volts
supplies on some of there modules where the caps fail and cause some weird
problems. I have seen on other sets the vertical plug at the chassis can
have a bad connection in it. Not sure about the Quasar but if it has
parameters maybe the vertical drive parameter is set to low.

Hi,
I have a vertical defection problem.
When you turn on the TV, you get only raster, the picture then shakes and it
goes to a horizontal line. I replaced most of the caps in the vertical
section and the vertical output IC. I also resoldered bad connections. The
weird thing is once and a while, the full picture will appear, then go away.
However, banging and tapping does not seem to affect the picture.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony
