I guess I didn't take the time to review what you were saying. Yep I've had the 
same problem a while ago. The coil & res. I changed bot for good measure.  

Here is one from me:  
  It ia a RCA stereo Mod. RS2523. The transistor Q511 goes bad after about 3-6 
HRS. I'v replaced it with the newer # but it still shuts down and goes to stby 
mode. I have even hardwired a plastic pak to the chassis for better heat sink 
but afer about 12 hrs. it died and took out the 1.6A fuse.  Help!! Thanks
