[TV] Removing the Coating on the back of a picture tube possible?

I was requested to build a small TV set into a plexiglass cabinet, from 
a 5 inch or so color TV set, demonstrating the workings of a TV for a 
classroom setting.

Is it possible to sand off/grind off the rear black coating on a picture 
tube to then see inside of the Tube? to see the shadowmask?
