These sets are notorious for Vert O/P IC problems.
If you get relay click, and instant shut-down, I would look at the  
Vertical.
	Is it using that TDA configuration with the metal cover over the  
Vert O/P IC?
I'm not in the shop, but I presume that's the one you are talking about.
