[TV] Re: RCA DLP 50"
My experience says it is the DM# module.

Subject: [TV] RCA DLP 50"
Hi techs,
RCA DLP, HD50LPW164YX1
Problem is solarization, or at least that's what I call it. It's the
paint by numbers look, with all the wrong colors. All inputs are affected,
and the OSD is bad too. Even when I pull up the service menu, the test
patterns and the OSD are still bad.
The video out of the Monitor Out from the DM3 module is good. Audio is
good too, btw. I'm leaning toward the light engine since the test patterns
are bad too, but I can't confirm where they originate, in the engine or DM3.
I have the training manual and field guide, which have some pretty good
info, especially about troubleshooting dead set condition, but I can't find
anything referencing this situation, or even how to narrow it down to the
DM3 or light engine. That's really all I want to do, is narrow it down to
light engine or board (which one).
If anyone can help I'd surely appreciate it, or a number to RCA tech
line. The phone # I had on file is no good now.
