Thanks to everyone who responded to this.  Five responses in just a days 
time, compared to zero on my other list.  Wow.

Looks like I need to verify the integrity of my LVDS cable and connections, 
then the light engine got the most votes.  I called PTS to see what they 
would do if I sent it in for repair, they jigged it up and it was fine, they 
said $50 bench fee and shipping back to me.  That's down right reasonable, 
so that's probably what I'll do.  I'll update the list when I get it fixed.
