Hi, Take it easy. I am willingly to give you small afternoon tea. As I am Chinese person After finish a job, if some body have been given me help, whose may be a friend or employee, then I will invite him to a tea at the restaurant. WE take further help, take about the past, the future approach. It is very common and traditional thing in Chinese society, especially after finished special job or difficult job, but I can not go with you to a tea, so that give small tea via email to you. Thank you I hope all members would keep closely help each other.
HI, Thank you. It is problem of necessary. People need a car to help them go to work. No work that mean no living, but don't look at TV still, can live. If they have sufficient money for living then they will fix TV, but at that point of time, the TV selling price is dropping so that Fix TV comparing with buy a new one some time would be buy a new one is better than Fix TV. The only thing is that We have to closely help each other so that both of us will Fix TV more quickly and at a cheaper prices, so that customer will consider FIX their TVs.
Last Day, I have finished on repair job by recommend customer to buy a new one. It happened like this...............
I was called for service on Vizio plasma TV model P50HDM. This TV happened arcing at the right hand bottom corner. I told him repair is not cheap. It would be at over US$800.00. Sometime would have further problem after fix. All the money added together will nearly buying a new one, but it is still old one and will very easy getting next fresh problem. I ask for my estimate fee at US$30.00 and help him buy a new one online via my notebook computer. I show him few website. He choose one from Costco.com at $1199.99 for Westinghouse 52" LCD direct view TV model TX-52H480S. I ask for another US$20.00 for working online. That is total US$50.00. It is better than to work on that Plasma TV as it is very far away from my location. To and fro would be many times. Last night the TV reached his home. I was asked to help to install new LCD TV. I went to him and finish job at labor US$70.00.
This is very good customer. I tell him the truth so that he gave the old plasma TV ( not TV it is a monitor ) to me. So that Customer more likely to fix their Car than TV is very meaningful.

Yes Ming, I got it, thank you... I accepted it because I honestly
could not find a way to not take it. But it was not necessary. That is what
I believe most of us participate in this board for, to help others out
without any expectation of profit. TV repair has gotten to be a tough
business with many customers thinking "anybody can do it". I would NOT have
spent ANY time trying to help "John Q Customer" through a similar repair.
They need to consult a professional repair shop. I have no problem in trying
to help a fellow TV technician. My definition of a pro is someone that does
it for a living, has taken the time to train, study and knows how to do it
without causing further harm to the TV OR themselves. No body knows it all.
I have spent well over 30 years learning how to do my job, and still
learning. That can not be passed on in a six line response to "IT DON'T LOOK
RIGHT" request.
Sorry for the rant, but times are tough, and it seems that customers
are not willing to pay $200.00 to fix a $8000.00 TV, but have no problem
paying $500.00 to fix a $2000.00 car!

Actually, I have three email addresses. Both of the addresses you list are
valid. I use "milbog" almost exclusively for reading this message board.

You can not get internal parts for Sony optic blocks, but you may be able to
get a free optic block! Call Sony @ 866-850-8681, customer service. DO NOT
TELL THEM SOMEONE GAVE IT TO YOU.. Give them the Model & serial number. They
should give you a "customer efile" number. With that you can get a Sony
authorized shop to install it for free parts & labor.. Reference the service
bulletin E34500176.. Don't wait long because the program expires on
12/31/2008. It does not matter when it was purchased.

Do you know the parts number of the LCD crystal for the light engine model
A1084662A. If I have it I will try to change the blue LCD, fore this LCD PTV
customer already give away to me. Trying to work on it will not make any
inconvenience to customer.
