[TV] Re: LCD TV's
Hi, At the time I was a boy I received my electronic knowledge at South
East Radio College. It was a small technical school. It taught about 6
days a week and each day from the morning 8.00 am to 1.00 pm. Each day
gave four lessons. About 8 teacher, each one taught a subject. Those
teacher were very working-hard person who looked at book at the school
management office, took notes, and went to classroom to talk theory.
It is also two years course, but I went to it three times, because I
was not reach can-selfstudy-ability, so that went to it to improve my
knowledge. I can not look at books and have understanding. The first
one, I studied B&W TV radio, and electronic, the second time I
went to it to study color TVs,
I only presented myself at color TV lesson for I already graduated
student. these two trip of study is nice and successful. The third time
I went to it to study computer, but this time it is no good, the course
materials were not so good and the teacher were working person and came
to earn additional money. I got Myself"""MCC"" on computer study. It
only told me the beginning of the outlined talking of computer. I even
can not operate on computer, That time it taught Apple II and 6502 CPU, basic. one year later after I left the school, the whole
school closed, The school became from four flat ( one flat is one big
room ) to a 13 stage building, but
the owner sold it out and moved to USA. All the teacher were given money before the owner left Hong Kong.
I saw the security man who patrolled at the main door holding and
looked at his red saving bank book with deep smile and looked at it
almost 5 minutes once.
That time my english was not good and
could not even write a simple sentense. also my maths is not good to
understand the formular. Until 1990 HK government found the Open University of Hong Kong,
all HK citizen were persuaded to study at it, but over 70% failed to
continue. I was also failed as I don't have much money so that I only
can take one subject per year, finally I moved to USA at 2000 year's
end. I only got 65 credit while it needs 120 credit in order to be
graduated. If I hold a degree and then come to USA I can study at U.
It is much more directly to approach more knowledge that I want. I only
improved my foundation at OUHK and reached can-self-study.
Thank
you, Hong Kong Government who gave me chance to re-study, as normally
to study at U must be the best of study who after many exams than can
go to it, but it is open to all. If you want to study and have patience
on it surely will success. The entrance requirement is low, but when
you are graduated you will have the same grade of knowledge as come out
from normal university.
Thank you

I am been teaching electronic repair for almost 35 years, during all those
years I graduate about 500 Electronic Technicians,the course went for 2 years,4
hours per week,in the evenings, and so people was able to keep a job for while
they came to school, and the only thing I was teaching was electronic plus
some math to understand some theory, I divide the classes in 2, the first 2
hours was theory and the next 2 hours, practice or lab. where the students was
able to have hands on right from the beginning,is very difficult that they
keep the interest,if you only teach theory for long time before they touch any
thing, on this practice classes they learn color code, wattage and size for
different resistors, test capacitors with the Z meter, how to use the tester, use
of the fingers to check for temperature to see if something was working, use
of the nose to check for overheat components, use of the scope as a tool for
troubleshooting, how to solder special SMC etc and this practice or lab classes
keep the interest very high, the number of people that quit the course was
very low, maybe 2%.-We have tests on theory and practice once in a while, also I
was available on Saturday morning for 4 hours for those that miss a class
during the week for recuperation, was very fun to teach, you can see people that
came that they did know nothing about electronic and after the 2 years they
were able to diagnose problems, even I just to have a doctor that came to
classes with his son
I have many successful stories about this people, many of them doing labor
work and after they graduate as an Electronic Technician they found some very
good jobs in this field, sometimes they call me or visit me to thanks me for the
training, some of them work for the government,my teaching program was
certified by the State, some of the students pass the CET test, the age for this
courses went from 16 years old to 75.- If I teach today I will have to adjust the
program with this new technology, I remember one guy that work in a big
potato warehouse and was making the minimum salary, when He got his certificate,He
went to his boos and ask for a raise,He was the one keeping all the
computers running in that plant, they triple his salary right away, others companies
pay for the training, even Welfare pay for some of the students and the
government.- Have a nice day.-

My school was only a 2 year tech school. They basically tried to teach the
whole field of electronics in two years. Lots of theory, build lots of
circuits. some non electronics classes to meet accreditation standards. some
networking (Basic), PC Hardware, some Programming. It was a good foundation, but
they didn't really tech how to fix things. They taught things you need to know
to fix things, but not the process of repairing things. No quick test tips or
secrets of the pro's. most of my classmates are probably working in jobs were
they test the same circuit board all day or just swap cards to fix whatever
they are working on. I don't want to buy a $200 board because some cheap
parts have failed or a bad solder joint was made. I want to find the problem and
fix it for cheap. I have a limited budget here and I try to save it for the
test equipment I need. They didn't even have a scope when I started here, all
they had was a cheap multi-meter and a decent soldering station. S!
ometime si buy my own gear on ebay and just bring it in when needed, but I
did make them buy me a scope, a Variable AC supply/isolation transformer, ESR
meter, and function generator/frequency counter. I lack the more specialized
instruments though.
Anyway, sorry to ramble. Thanks for the book I will read it over the next
week or so and see how it goes and thanks again to all for sharing your
suggestions.

Hi, Dear friend, I am now sending you the link of this e-book. it is about
13M files.
The link is "
http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=13d24b809029382fd2db6fb9a8902bda " Please look at it carefully, if after finish look at it and still
need more information you can go to that LCD site to buy that information. I
feel it is so good but it will suit some body's idea. as new model LCD, Plasma
TV are very difficult to change individual small parts. It is needed to
changed the whole board.
If your school has excellent courses, please tell me so that I can go to
study online. I feel myself did not know so much on LCD and Plasma TV as CRT
Base TVs. These CRT base TV theory I was taught at I was a boy. it was very
wonderful course, every small piece of circuit are explanned very detailed so
that I can work over 40 years still can understand other newer circuit. All
LCD Pasma TV circuit are " MCC "( MO. Cha. Cha. .... Chinese pronounciation
.....At I was a boy MCC means not very clear on every thing ) not very clear and
grasp it with confidence.
Thank you
