Hello,
 

Had this set in about 2 weeks ago.very narrow picture. C509, .47uf,250v
mylar cap open.  Didn't have a 250v, so I used a 400v.

 

Customer said set worked only a few days and then back to original problem.
C509 bad again, this time the side was blown out.  I check all other mylar
caps in this area of the circuit as well as dual diode.everything checked
out o.k.  Any ideas why this cap failed again?  Incidentally, I replace cap
again, this time with .47uf,630v mylar and everything seems fine.  

 

Can I safely return to customer, assuming I had installed a defective or
inferior quality cap?
